Give-away

As you can see, we had a beautiful Thanksgiving. Victoria took these photos or there wouldn't be any, you know how busy you get putting Thanksgiving dinner on the table! Once the festivities began even she didn't have time to take pics. We all ate til we were as stuffed as the turkey and then just talked and laughed and had a great time together.  I ♥ Thanksgiving:>)
And now, as we all know, this weekend kicks off Christmas. We are getting the tree today, hauling down the ornaments from the attic (lets hope the ceiling doesn't suffer for it this year!)  and soon the smell of cookies baking will fill the air:>)
Last year I saw this book at the discount book store and put it on my list for Christmas. It has so many pretty projects and delicious recipes I had to have it! And like a dork I was afraid I wouldn't get it so I got one just before Christmas. Of course my sweet Victoria had gotten it for me so I have two copies. I had her write inside the one she got me and now I have one to give away. I'm working on a few more little things to include, but you'll just have to wait and see what else comes with this. Leave a comment and I'll choose a winner next Wednesday, December 1. Oh, and please make sure your email address is included in your comment or that you are signed in so I get an email address when you comment. If I can't get ahold of you I can't send you the prize!
I can't wait to begin decorating and enjoying the next 4 weeks.....only 4 weeks! They fly by so quickly, I plan to squeeze as much candle light and joy out of  each moment as I can. How are you preparing for Christmas?

  3. I have quite a few Gooseberry Patch books but not that one! Would love to have it. I've got the house decorated as much as I will do. Christmas Shopping is almost finished and am busy wrapping presents. My mother-in-law is dying from cancer and not expected to live past Christmas so wanted to get everything done early.

  9. Hi Kathy

I've only recently discovered Gooseberry Patch so only have two so far and would love to get my hands on their Christmas books so thanks for the chance to win this.

We are moving house on Wednesday (after 22 years in the same house) so we will be in our new house in time for Christmas. More importantly, our beautiful daughter is coming home to the UK from Texas for the holidays so hopefully our family will all be together for Christmas. I can't wait to start decorating our home and doing some cooking to make it a really holiday. I know your book would be just the thing to inspire me!

Thank you for being so sweet and sharing your darling book with us. :o)
I was able to put out my new to me table runner (I created and posted about recently), plus a couple red and white gingham bows around the house, and a few red berries. :o) Woody mentioned putting up the lights today as well. :o)
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  14. What a fun give-away! Loved the glimpses of your Thanksgiving together. Can't wait to see your decorations. I'm spending time with one grandchild a day (and night) through their Thanksgiving break but starting to do a bit of decorating. The Christmas/Winter village is going on the mantel today and there will be bits and pieces of it appearing around the house. All the Christmas decoration boxes are down from the attic - with the help of a grandson - and I'm looking forward to switching the seasons and enjoying as much candlelight and lights on the tree as possible.

  17. I adore gooseberry patch books!

Typically I would be transforming my home for the Christmas holidays this weekend - but I work as a secretary in the emergency department so i'm working this weekend. Come Monday there will be Christmas music playing and I'll be happily tucking bits here and there!

  27. Glad to hear you guys had a fabulous Thanksgiving. We had a really nice one too.

I've never had a Gooseberry Patch book but I just bought the 2010 Christmas magazine. So many cute Christmas ideas and great looking recipes!

Well I got some of the Christmas boxes out of the barn so this week I'll do a little decorating. I'm not doing as much as I normally would since I just don't want to have to pack up all that stuff again. But I do want the house to look festive!

  33. Hi Kathy,

What a delightful book. I have been decorating the house for Christmas, and took a coffee break and stopped to visit you. I told my daughters that this year is going to be a little different than previous years. Because there is not as much money, we are just going to enjoy everything we have. It really takes the pressure off. I too plan on enjoying every ounce of Christmas.

Thank you for your giveaway, please enter me. Wishing you all the joy that you can find.

  37. i'm so delighted to find this bright, cheery, beautiful blog!!

In your comment on Daisy Cottage you said you started this one because of hers, and that's the way mine began, as well, from another that admired and enjoyed.

I'm marking you for more visits, as soon as all the flurry of the holidays is settled down. Or perhaps just a tiny peek now and then, in the tree-lit room, with a little cup of something steaming and spicily fragrant.

Just lovely, with warmth and hospitality, and that gorgeous reclaimed buffet.
