Luminaria

Tomorrow night Earl and I are hosting the dessert part of a progressive dinner for our Adult Bible Fellowship at our church. I haven't gotten lights strung on the front porch because it has been very cold and windy and I just hate cold wind! I hope it will warm up just a little just long enough for me to put the lights up soon. Anyway, to greet our guests tomorrow night I pulled some old green jars out of the basement, washed them up, tied some ribbon on and dropped in some tea lights.
I know these pictures are dark, but the glow of the candles on the front porch makes me think that even if I don't get the lights up this year....
It will be ok. I will take some pictures of the party to share tomorrow:>)

  2. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas . . . And yes, I was singing it while I typed! I love your personal touches, the nativity, the yard sale finds, etc.!

On a spiritual note... Sometimes I get used to seeing the widgets that I have on my blog and forget to read them. I noticed your Daily Snippet and thought I would look it up in The Message Bible. Having more than one translation helps bring the words to life in my spirit! It read:

"Get me out of this dungeon so I can thank you in public. Your people will form a circle around me and you'll bring me showers of blessing!"

    Blessings, KJ

I think your jar candles may be more inviting that the typical string of lights anyway!

  15. Oh, these jars are perfect! I have some and I'm going to do the same on my porch for Christmas Eve...that's when all of my family will be at our house. Great idea.
Oh, and I read your comment on Little Red House and thanks for that info, too. I don't know how to do very much on a computer and this helps a lot.
